Ashley Chan

Meet Ashley Chan

Ashley is a native of Portland and joins Cascade Physicians after nearly five years as an acute care registered nurse at Oregon Health and Science University. Ashley chose to become a family nurse practitioner to help patients overcome barriers to quality primary care. As a child of Chinese immigrants, Ashley saw firsthand the impact of language and cultural barriers to care and became interested in health equity through a primary care lens. Ashley enjoys primary care because it allows her to work with individuals of diverse ages, genders, and cultures to lead healthier lives. She is passionate about building longer-term relationships with patients and helping them navigate health care transitions through the lifespan.

Ashley holds Bachelor degrees in Human Physiology and Japanese from the University of Oregon, and in Nursing from OHSU. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing in 2019 from Simmons University. Her clinical interests include caring for the underserved and women’s health. She is fluent in Cantonese Chinese, and enjoys practicing her Japanese and Spanish given the chance. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys teaching tricks to her two Siamese cats, practicing yoga, hiking and cooking.
